Spending Time with Friends without Spending Money

Hey everyone, today we are talking about free things to do with friends!

The 9th episode of Maya Monday is here, and I am so excited because I revamped the format of the series. From now on, in addition to the weekly topic, I’ll be sharing some weekly recommendations, giving advice in the #askmaya (email me questions!) segment, and showing my appreciation with weekly mini-giveaways. Make sure you are subscribed and follow the rules mentioned in the video to enter for your chance to win a special treat from me.

Spending Time with Friends Without Spending Money

Cook dinner together

Make your favorite meal with your friends, or organize a potluck. It will be really fun to hang out with your friends and save money by creating dinner together. If you really want to get fancy, I would suggest using a meal box subscription, like Dinnerly. It is the cheapest on the market right now with meals at $5 per serving, and the meals are delicious.

Go exploring

Go be a tourist in your city, visit a fun attraction, or seek a new place with your friends. There are plenty of things to see, no matter where you live. Even if you are in a smaller town with few attractions, make it a point to go out with friends to learn something about your home that you didn’t know before. The pursuit will be a lot of fun.

Have a Netflix party

Pull out some popcorn, and watch some of your favorite childhood movies and TV shows. You all can sit and decide what you’re going to watch (or make a playlist), and then have fun being together. My favorite thing to do is watch childhood movies that I loved and laugh about how ridiculous they are. I mean, have you ever noticed how old the cast of High School Musical actually looks in the movie?

For the rest of the ideas, hit play on the video, or check out this list!

Talk soon,

Maya

Being an adult = being poor, lol, so I definitely appreciate this post. My go-to, budget-friendly idea always involves staying in and watching Netflix — using my brother’s account of course. 🙂

Haha of course! I use my brother for Hulu. Thanks for reading!
