Hey everyone! In today’s post, we are talking all about finding motivation.
I’m a hard worker. I pride myself on that, and it’s a huge part of my identity. However, because of that, I often work myself half to death and have feelings of burn out more often than I would like. You may remember my recent Instagram post where I explained that I just needed a break. I had to take some time to figure out how to find motivation in life, and I’m going to share some tips with y’all.
How to find motivation in life
Get fresh air
Staying in the same space, physically or mentally, can be detrimental to success. So, you should get out to get some fresh air. That may mean a walk around your block, in a literal sense, or it may mean visiting a museum or taking time to learn something new. You just need to change your perspective. Self-care is a good option to nurture your energy as well.
Find Motivating Content
sometimes, we need a boost from an external source to build up our motivation. If you have songs, movies, people or anything else that leaves you with a sense of motivation, go seek them out! If you just need to have a friend gas you, that’s okay. Personally, I’ve been keeping Drake’s “Nice for What” video on loop.
Set goals & keep a vision board
This one is pretty simple because you have to know where you’re headed to get there, right? Sometimes, life surprises us, but it’s still good to have an idea. Setting goals and keeping them visible reminds you of where you’re going and gives purpose to the journey. The drive may be tough, but imagine reaching the destination.
Take an inventory
But what if the destination no longer excites you? It’s important to take inventory when you feel your motivation draining and assess whether your actions align with your desires. I spent my first year of college studying business and dreading every single class until I realized that I had absolutely no desire to study business. Now, even when I’m over school and classes, I know that I’m studying something I enjoy.
